Therapeutic model (PACE)

Care that understands where behaviour comes from

We work with the Dan Hughes therapeutic parenting model and PACE: Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy.

Many of the young people we support have had difficult starts. Our care is built to understand that, not to judge it.

Our teams are trained in the Dan Hughes therapeutic parenting model, working with an approach known as PACE.

Playfulness · Acceptance · Curiosity · Empathy

The four parts of PACE

P

Playfulness

Bringing lightness, warmth and connection into everyday moments.

A

Acceptance

Meeting young people as they are, without conditions.

C

Curiosity

Seeking to understand what's behind a feeling or behaviour, rather than reacting to it.

E

Empathy

Sitting alongside a young person in how they feel, so they never face it alone.

In practice, PACE helps young people feel safe enough to trust, and trust is what makes everything else possible: settling in, learning, growing and looking forward.

Care you can be confident in

Our therapeutic approach sits within a wider commitment to quality, inspection and accountability.
